French students celebrated "le gateau des rois' a few days early (January 3) this year, since Epiphany (January 6) fell on a Sunday. Our gateaux (six of them) were baked and generously donated to us by the Harrison Home Bakery. Un grand merci to Mr. Dieter Noller and his family - our favorite bakers!
What is "le gateau des rois"? This site gives
a good explanation. Click

Who were the kings in the 2008 gateau des rois celebration at CNE?
Click here to see pictures of our CNE "rois" (kings)! In each class, two figurines were hidden in the cake, so two kings were crowned. The kings (and/or queens?) all received a no homework pass and a pencil advertising French.
